Florence Balan is Assistant Director of Human Resources at The New York City Housing Authority (NYCHA), the largest public housing authority in North America, which provides decent and affordable housing in a safe and secure living environment for low and moderate-income residents throughout the five boroughs.

Florence Balan is also President of the Haitian-American Association at NYCHA, which led fundraising efforts in collaboration with Habitat for Humanity International, to help the victims of the January 12, 2010 devastating earthquake in Haiti.

She graduated from Hunter College with a degree in Economics. In addition, Florence is a certified life coach and holistic health consultant. She is the founder of Achieving Stability Life Coaching Services.  The primary focus for all her clients is to provide methods for realizing and achieving their true potential.  She also studies and practices Reflexology.

She was born in Port-Au- Prince and immigrated to the United States with her parents when she was in her teens.  She lives in Queens, New York and has a daughter, Rachelle who resides in Jersey City, New Jersey with her husband.

During her spare time she enjoys taking long meditative walks.
