Garvey Lundy

Born in Port Au Prince, Haiti, Garvey Lundy came to the United States in 1985 and was raised in Brooklyn, New York. As a child, Garvey had a huge imagination and his natural artistic tendency led him to painting. Using pastel, oil and watercolors, Garvey designed and created postcards featuring beautiful landscape themes, which he sold to enthusiastic schoolmates and teachers. At the age of 12 his work won an award from Thirteen/WNET New York Public Media for his artistic abilities. It was at this early age that Garvey learned the pleasures and reward of pursuing his passion.

In 1995, Garvey Lundy was fortunate to be an apprentice to a highly skilled Master Jeweler who he looked up to. This apprenticeship allowed Garvey to master the technical skills required for crafting handmade jewelry. Being around a person of such influence, Garvey then began to envision becoming a jewelry craftsman. This experience allowed him to develop his craftsmanship, but it was his creativity and imagination that moved him beyond the crafting, towards true design.

Over time Garvey began to design original pieces. He began to find inspiration all around him.The city spoke to him. The Empire State Building, the Statue of Liberty & Ellis Island, the Brooklyn Bridge, the lights, the sights and sounds became his palette. He began to see jewelry making from a different perspective. His design aesthetic led him to the unusual and thus, Garvey Lundy Fine Jewelry was born.
